TVS Gears Up to Enter Adventure Segment With the New RTX 300

TVS RTX 300 side profile in Expo

TVS Motor is ready to shake up India’s mid-weight ADV market with its upcoming TVS RTX 300, which insiders say will hit showrooms by August. The bike, first spotted at the Bharat Mobility Expo, hints at TVS’s ambition to plug the gap between urban sports bikes and true adventure tourers — without burning a hole in your pocket.

Enthusiasts have been buzzing about the TVS RTX 300 specs ever since spy shots revealed the brand’s new approach. Unlike the fully faired Apache RR 310, the RTX is a stripped-down, go-anywhere machine aimed at riders who want to leave the tarmac without worrying about fancy electronics or massive weight.

Engineered for Real-World Roads

At its core, the TVS RTX 300 packs a 299cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder mill. TVS claims this unit is built in-house, not a rebranded BMW unit like the RR 310’s heart. The new engine is tuned to produce around 35 hp and 28 Nm — healthy numbers for a bike designed to take on broken highways and hilly backroads.

A six-speed gearbox comes standard, along with a slipper clutch — not just a fancy addition but a real boon in unpredictable off-road downshifts.

Built to Take a Beating

The RTX’s trellis frame looks sturdy enough to handle the usual trail abuse. Suspension is adventure-focused, too: an upside-down fork up front and a monoshock at the rear, both tuned for moderate trails and bad roads. Expect the TVS RTX 300 weight to hover near 170 kg fully fueled, keeping it light enough for newer riders to handle yet solid enough to stay planted at highway speeds.

TVS has opted for a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel setup — a classic adventure combo that promises stable steering off-road and nimble handling in traffic. Both wheels get disc brakes and switchable ABS, which riders can toggle off while tackling trails or loose gravel.

What sets this bike apart from entry-level street bikes is that TVS didn’t skimp on practical features. Riders can expect a TFT console that supports navigation, phone pairing and live ride stats. The TVS RTX 300 specs also mention multiple riding modes — something buyers in this range now expect.

Traction control is included, too — a confidence booster for riders who plan to venture into rain-soaked or gravelly terrain.

While the TVS RTX 300 seat height has yet to be officially confirmed, word is it sits around 835 mm. This hits a sweet spot: tall enough for good clearance but manageable for most average-height riders.

When to Expect It and for How Much

The TVS RTX 300 launch date is now targeted for August 2025. TVS has kept its cards close to its chest on final pricing, but industry watchers predict it will land between Rs 2.4 lakh and Rs 2.6 lakh (ex-showroom). That puts it in striking distance of the Royal Enfield Himalayan and Hero XPulse 400, two models TVS clearly wants to challenge.

Bookings are likely to open within days of the launch event. Some dealers have started hinting at demo units arriving for test rides closer to September.

Why It Matters

The adventure segment is hot in India, but affordable options are still scarce. Riders wanting more power than a 200 cc dual-sport but less weight than a 650 cc ADV haven’t had many real choices. The TVS RTX 300, with its practical power, user-friendly TVS RTX 300 specs, well-balanced TVS RTX 300 weight and moderate TVS RTX 300 seat height, may become the missing link in India’s ADV market.
