Suzuki Katana has received a new special edition for the German market, with the company unveiling a Katana Limited Edition produced in just 45 units. The motorcycle celebrates the legacy of the Katana nameplate and introduces a few cosmetic upgrades and exclusive accessories while retaining the same mechanical package as the standard model.
The limited-run model keeps the distinctive neo-retro styling that has defined the modern Katana since its reintroduction. However, Suzuki has enhanced the motorcycle with exclusive graphics, collectible accessories, and a premium exhaust system, making it a desirable option for enthusiasts and collectors alike.
Visually, the bike features a silver paint scheme combined with bronze alloy wheels, giving it a unique appearance compared to the regular version. Each unit also carries a numbered sticker on the fuel tank, highlighting its position within the 45-bike production run.
Apart from the cosmetic updates, the motorcycle comes bundled with several exclusive items including frame sliders, carbon-look tank pads, a Katana-branded garage mat, and a commemorative book detailing the history of the Katana model.
Suzuki has priced the Katana Limited Edition at around €15,045 (approximately ₹16 lakh) in Germany, placing it above the standard version due to the additional accessories and limited production run.
Suzuki Katana Engine
999cc Inline-Four Engine Overview
The Katana Limited Edition continues to use the same powertrain as the standard Katana. The motorcycle is powered by a 999cc liquid-cooled inline four-cylinder engine, derived from the performance-focused platform used in Suzuki’s larger sport motorcycles.
This engine traces its roots to the legendary GSX-R series and is known for its strong mid-range performance and smooth high-revving characteristics, making it suitable for both everyday riding and spirited performance riding.
Power and Torque Figures
The engine produces 152 hp (around 152 PS) and 106 Nm of peak torque, providing strong acceleration and impressive highway performance.
In the Katana, Suzuki has tuned the engine to deliver stronger mid-range torque rather than focusing solely on peak power figures, ensuring a more usable powerband for road riding.
Engine Technology and Electronics
The motorcycle also comes equipped with modern electronics and rider aids. Key features include ride-by-wire throttle control, multiple riding modes, Suzuki’s traction control system with multiple levels, and a bidirectional quickshifter as standard.
These features help improve both performance and safety while offering riders a more refined riding experience.

Design and Styling Highlights
The Katana Limited Edition retains the iconic styling that pays homage to the original Katana from the early 1980s. The modern version features sharp angular bodywork, a distinctive front design, and a classic silver finish that closely mirrors the historic model.
For the limited edition, Suzuki has added special graphics and a black rear section, giving the motorcycle a more distinctive and premium appearance compared to the standard Katana.
Chassis, Suspension and Braking
The mechanical hardware remains unchanged from the standard model. The motorcycle uses an aluminium frame paired with KYB suspension components and Brembo radial braking hardware, ensuring strong handling and braking performance.
This setup is designed to deliver stable handling at high speeds while maintaining comfort for everyday riding.
Exclusive Accessories and Equipment
One of the key highlights of the limited edition is the set of exclusive accessories that come bundled with the motorcycle. These include:
- Frame sliders for added protection
- Carbon-look tank pads
- A Katana-branded garage mat
- A commemorative “Katana History” book
These items emphasize the collectible nature of the limited-run model and celebrate the heritage of the Katana nameplate.
Suzuki Katana Akrapovic Exhaust
Akrapovic Slip-On Exhaust System
The main mechanical upgrade on the Katana Limited Edition is the addition of a road-legal Akrapovic slip-on exhaust. This replaces the standard exhaust system and enhances the overall appeal of the motorcycle.
Akrapovic is widely known for producing high-performance motorcycle exhaust systems, and its inclusion adds a premium touch to the limited edition Katana.
Improved Sound and Riding Experience
Although the Akrapovic exhaust does not significantly change the engine’s performance figures, it offers a more distinctive exhaust note, improving the overall riding experience and giving the Katana a sportier character.
Premium Design and Finish
Apart from the sound benefits, the Akrapovic exhaust also enhances the motorcycle’s visual appeal with its high-quality construction and performance-focused design, making it one of the key highlights of this special edition.
With production limited to just 45 units, the Katana Limited Edition is expected to become a sought-after collector’s motorcycle, particularly among enthusiasts who appreciate the iconic design and heritage of the Katana nameplate.
