KTM RC 160 Launched at Rs. 1.85 Lakh in India

KTM India has officially launched the RC 160 in the Indian market at an ex-showroom price of Rs. 1.85 lakh. Positioned as the brand’s smallest fully-faired sportbike, the new RC 160 is priced Rs. 6,000 higher than the 160 Duke TFT variant. Despite its smaller engine capacity, the motorcycle borrows heavily from its larger RC siblings in terms of design and hardware, offering a premium sportbike experience.

Inspired by Bigger RC Models

The KTM RC 160 carries forward the same aggressive design language seen on the RC 200 and RC 390, giving it a big-bike appearance. The fully-faired bodywork, sharp lines, and race-focused styling ensure that the RC 160 looks every bit like a supersport motorcycle despite its entry-level positioning.

Chassis and Hardware Setup

Under the bodywork, the RC 160 is built on a trellis frame. Suspension duties are handled by 37mm inverted front forks and a rear monoshock, providing a balance between sporty handling and everyday usability. The bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels, reinforcing its track-inspired stance.

Technology and Safety Features

In terms of equipment, the RC 160 comes with full LED lighting, a clip-on handlebar, and a 13.75-litre metal fuel tank. The motorcycle features an LCD instrument cluster instead of a TFT display. For safety, it is equipped with dual-channel ABS with Supermoto mode, along with an assist and slipper clutch to improve control during aggressive riding.

KTM RC 160 Engine and Performance

Engine Specifications

Powering the KTM RC 160 is a 164.2cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, SOHC engine. The motor produces 18.73 bhp at 9,500 rpm and 15.5 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm, making it one of the more performance-oriented engines in its segment.

Gearbox and Riding Dynamics

The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox, enabling smooth power delivery across city and highway conditions. KTM has tuned the motor to offer a high-revving nature, aligning with the RC brand’s sporty character.

Claimed Performance Figures

According to KTM, the RC 160 has a claimed top speed of 118 km/h. The combination of lightweight construction, strong mid-range torque, and premium cycle parts contributes to confident handling and braking performance.

Pricing Details

The KTM RC 160 has been launched at Rs. 1.85 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. This pricing places it slightly above the KTM 160 Duke TFT variant, with a difference of Rs. 6,000.

Colour Options and Availability

At launch, the RC 160 is available in a single colour option, finished in black with white and orange graphics. This colour scheme was previously seen in leaked images ahead of the official launch. KTM may introduce additional colour options at a later stage.
